Seward Day Cruise

We decided to take a day cruise out of Seward to see some of Alaska's sites. We had a beautiful drive down with all the Aspen, Birch, and Cottonwood turning yellow. Carmen and Billy got to see the undescribable color of the glacier fed lakes and rivers. This was taken of our drive through Turnagain Arm.We went on the only cruise that was still open for the season. We went on the Kenai Fjord boat through Resurrection Bay. The captain warned us that the water was a little choppy so told us the best places to sit. I took motion sickness medicine and was ready to go! This pic is Billy feeding Kaden lunch.......Jason was taking a cat nap and I was trying to close my eyes to ward off the sick feeling I was getting......This picture was taken after Kaden and Grandpa Billy were cleaned up. Kaden had thrown up all in his jacket and Grandpa Billy. Carmen woke me up to tell me what was going on, then I preceeded to tell Jason he had to take care of it and wobbled to the back of the boat with Brooke still attached to me. I threw up and a very nice man got some napkins for me. I got to know the people on the back of the boat (because that's the best place to be if you are sick) really well! Grandpa Billy was a good sport, he didnt throw up! Obviously Kaden was feeling much better with everything out of his system! Brooke did really well! I was hoping she wouldnt throw up because it would have been all over me!
Daddy and Kaden taking a nap.

Jason with the kids while Billy, Carmen, and myself went to go look at the Glacier.

Billy and Carmen with Aialik Gacier behind them.

Me and the glacier, we were over 1/2 a mile away, it was huge!

Daddy and Brooke.

Kaden and Grandpa Billy watching for caving of the glacier. Caving is when a piece of the glacier falls off into the water. We saw some great splashes! It was crazy hearing the errie sounds of the glacier.

They puled in some of the glacier ice and Kaden got to touch it.
Carmen enjoyng the scenery. Pictures do not do the landscapes justice!
An iceberg. There were harbor seals out on the ice bergs as well.

Mommy and Kaden, thanks daddy for letting Kaden borrow your jacket while his clothes hung up in the engine room!

Kaden, Grandpa and Grandma

Kaden happy even though he was hungry, we wouldnt give him anything else to eat until we were on land.

Harbor seals. We also saw a sea otter, Steller seal lions and 3 killer whales!
It was a great trip eventhough it lasted 6 hours and we got sick. But it was great going with Grandma and Grandpa and seeing all the beautiful sights!
When you watch the video, make sure you have your volume turned up load and you can hear the glacier caving! You can see a some of the splash that would have been as tall as a 2 story house!!
